To coincide with London Craft Week, Royal Museums Greenwich will host three events to celebrate ‘Fabric of the Land: The Untold Yarn’ this coming May 2025!
First up:
Join me for a hands-on weaving workshop inspired by The Cutty Sark's rich textile history of transporting wool from Britain to Australia. Learn to weave on a tapestry hand loom using wool from sheep at Yorkshire Sculpture Park, dyed in colours inspired by the landscape, with some additional wool kindly donated by Camira Fabrics from their recycled ReSKU 2.0.
We'll be exploring the fascinating links between sailing and weaving, and you'll take home your own loom to continue your weaving journey after the workshop.
Saturday 10 May 2025 10.00-13.00 and 14.00-17.00

Enjoy after-hours access to the legendary tea clipper, experience the immersive Cutty Sark Soundscape, and enjoy an exclusive screening of Paul Wyatt's documentary Fabric of the Land: The Untold Yarn.
The celebration continues with a post-film Q&A, drinks, and live music.
